Our Story
How We Started
POSS, LLC is a locally owned and operated contract manufacturer and a wholesale medical supply distributor established in Tallahassee in 2001. Over the years, we have grown from a home-based business to a fully staffed office and warehouse serving North Florida and the Southeastern region. We exclusively cater to businesses, ensuring they have access to high-quality medical and facility supplies.
Our journey began with selling surgical supplies and instruments to a few customers in Gainesville. As our loyal customer base expanded, so did our product offerings. Today, we provide a comprehensive range of products across categories such as Gloves, Personal Protection, Wound Care, OR Supplies, Medical Furnishings and Equipment, and more, serving over 200 local businesses and hundreds of businesses throughout the United States.
What Makes Us Different
With over 30 years of combined experience in project management, we undertake projects of all sizes with confidence. We have been the contract manufacturer for two National Contracts totaling over 5 million, showcasing our ability to deliver results effectively.
At POSS, we prioritize strong communication and transparency. We believe in being open and honest in all our business dealings, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service tailored to their needs. This approach has earned us the trust of multiple institutions, for whom we have provided procurement support, analyzing purchasing habits and helping revamp central purchasing systems to save costs.
Manufacturing
As a small company, we take pride in our close relationships with customers, which enable us to understand their needs intimately. This approach led us to identify a market gap and develop our own line of custom surgical gowns and drapes, a process that involved a year of rigorous testing and collaboration with manufacturers. These products have become a signature offering of POSS, setting us apart from competitors.
We have since expanded our manufacturing capabilities to include Nitrile Gloves, PPE Products, and General Use Gauze, further diversifying our product lines.
Our experienced manufacturing team is dedicated to meeting customer specifications. We conduct thorough research on raw materials, subject products to a series of tests before production, and sample final products with customers to solicit feedback and make necessary adjustments. This commitment to quality assurance ensures that our products consistently meet the highest standards.

We are proud to have been awarded two contracts servicing Health Centers and Universities, a testament to our dedication to excellence. Our DUNS number is 066882769, and our SAMS number is 7KGB2.
At POSS Medical, we operate as a licensed Biomedical Waste Transporter (ID #7772) recognized by the State of Florida Department of Health. We specialize in the collection and disposal of sharps waste in the Tallahassee and Gainesville areas, ensuring safe and compliant handling of medical waste.
In addition, we hold the State of Florida Woman Business Certified designation, highlighting our commitment to diversity and inclusion in business. Furthermore, we are proud to be certified as a City of Tallahassee Minority, Women, and Small Business Enterprise, demonstrating our dedication to supporting local economic development and diversity initiatives.
